In addition, my favorite subject is English. I also spend much time learning it, such as listening to English songs, watching western movies and reading English magazines. Because these can improve my listening ability and help me use words correctly. Although my English is not good enough, I'll try my best to improve it much better.
About my family, There're four members in my family─ my father, my mother, my young sister, and me. My father is a businessman and my mother is a housewife. Both of them pay much attention to the development of my personality. So they have given me the good learning environment since I was a child.
Though my parents have a great expectation to me, they never force me to do anything I don't like. They always give me a great deal of freedom to live my life. I'm very happy that I have such a harmonious family. I love them very much!

Environmental Problems in Taiwan
A part of Taiwanese begin having their consensus for protecting Taiwan’s environment in these years, but the others not. The environment problems in Taiwan become worse and worse since the economy of Taiwan rises rapidly. First, walking on the street, we still can see some people throw their garbage without thinking, even there is a trash can near he or she. These years, the government has established the law of trash classification and resource recycling. But people seem do not perform them well. Second, People have no sense to take public transportation. It causes air pollution more serious when people ride or drive theirs respectively. Besides, there still no definitely laws for controlling factories to exhaust emissions and toxic waste. Third, globalization causes foreign species invade our species which are originally. In addition, the requirement of people in food is increasing, so it causes deforestation. Then it will cause mudflows and landslides in a downpour or an earthquake which will cause the serious casualties. People can’t live in a bad environment. And we all Taiwanese, so how can we don’t cherish and protect our country’s environment anymore.
The Unhealthy Diet of Young Taiwanese People
The diet of the average young Taiwanese people is unhealthy. To begin with, Western fast food contains very few vegetables and fruits. On the contrary, there is too much oil, sugar, salt, meat, beans, fish, and nuts in Western fast food. For example, fast food in McDonald's and KFC like fried chicken, chicken nugget, and French fries has too much salt and oil. Eating these fast food too frequently would cause burden to our kidney, and make our body circulate worse. In addition, if young Taiwanese people eat them in the long-term, it is easy not only to cause imbalanced nutrition and chronic disease, like hypertension and heart diseases, but it would also make them get fat and increase chances of getting colon cancer. Moreover, these fast foods would weaken our body immunity, because insufficient fruits and vegetables would not only cause constipation, but also make our body not able to promote the metabolism of cholesterol and result in cardiovascular diseases. It seems foreign fast food brings much convenience to us, but relatively, eating too much Western fast food makes the diet of the average young Taiwanese people unhealthy.

The Time I Learned a Lesson
I went to school with my good friend, Emily, every day when I was a senior high school student. We used to take the MRT to school. One day, we saw a foreigner when we were waiting for the train in the MRT station. “Have you seen him before? ”I said. With a shrug, Emily gave me a strange look. When we saw him, he saw us too. Next he walked to us, and asked us to help him because he had no money to go home. He told us that he had asked for many people’s help, but all of them rejected him. On his face we saw how anxious and pitiable he was. Out of sympathy, Emily took out her purse and she gave three hundred dollars to him. But when we went to school the next day, we found the terrible truth that he was a liar. We saw him still at the MRT station and asked another victim to help him. And he did so for the next few days. My good friend was very depressed. So, in the end both of us learned a lesson that we should not show our sympathy without thinking, and we should be alert in public places, especially to strangers.

My Roommate’s Messy Room
I can tell by looking at the room that a slob lives there. Unfortunately, she is my roommate. She never cleans out her desk. When she goes back to the dormitory, she always puts down everything she has on the desk, like her handbag and beverage cans. Besides, she eats meals, fruits and cookies on her desk, but after she finishes eating, she never throws her garbage into the trash can. The more incredible is that I can see a layer of dust on her computer monitor. And when I walk pass her table, I often sneeze because of it. Her best friend helps her to clean her desk, but before the day finishes, her desk becomes the same as what it was like before—a war just happened. But I think the more terrible place is her bed. Her bed is a terrible mess. She always puts her dirty clothes, pants and smelly socks on her bed. Sometimes I would even see her handbag on it. What is worse is that she never folds her bed quilt when she gets up, and she seldom changes her pillowcase, bed sheet and bed quilt. I think it’s fine that her friend would help her clean her desk once or twice a week if she can’t manage her own place. But she doesn’t have the civism at all. She not only piles up her dirty clothes, jeans and smelly socks in front of her closet, which release a pungent odor, but she also never sweeps and mops the floor, even her own space. On the contrary, she expands her dirty space to the public space of our dormitory. I think she is the most slovenly person I’ve ever seen. She has really gone too far.
